1. What is Presentation?

l       The purpose of any presentation, written, oral or visual, is communication. To communicate effectively, you must state your facts in a simple, concise and interesting manner.

l       During this process, presentation is used to make the audience understand your opinion or idea and persuade him to decide your proposal.

l       Two-way communication between Audience and Presenter.

The art of persuasion is the art of finding the best available means of moving a specific audience in a specific situation to a specific decision

1.        Planning: The subject, purpose and target of presentation are decided

2.        Organization: Develop story following  ‘Introduction – body – conclusion’

3.        Content Development: Visible slides and materials are produced To decide place and prepare equipment

4.        Delivery: Deliver the actual presentation to get results targeted at the planning stage

5.        After Follow: Check the effect of presentation and implement evaluation

1. By Purpose 

  1. Presentation to activate action or decision
             Persuade the audience to take action (i.e. make them sell a product or service)
             Presenter has to understand the needs of audience and why they hesitates; present the acceptable reason of his proposals; does not list features and advantages but personal benefits
  2. Presentation to deliver knowledge or information
             Deliver information and make the audience to understand it
             Report the research results
             Suggest ideas or opinions to get approval
             Explain the guidelines, goal or decision
             Instruct something or transfer technology
             Reply to questions
  3. Presentation for sales or marketing purpose
             Effective marketing tool for product sales or sales promotion
             Usually it is made by PR personnel, salesmen or managers.
  4. Presentation inducing self-motivation
             Give an opportunity to motivate to project team members or group
             Build friendship and enjoy
             It aims to achieve a certain goal
